St. John Lutheran Church started our week Sunday afternoon with a worship service.
Some of the men enjoyed an old-fashioned shoeshine, shave, or haircut Monday in our new barber shop. Carmen Jones from Prairie Flower and Garden Shop brought a floral demonstration. She arranged two flower bouquets and brought a red rose for each of the women. After her presentation, Pauline Wegerer's name was drawn to receive one of the arrangements.
Dave Clark had a music appreciation group Tuesday morning after breakfast. The daily book club met at 2 p.m. and the domino players were invited to an afternoon of games and snacks. Frank Peters and Dave Classen were high scorers. The Gospel Messengers Musical Ministries brought the Tuesday evening program.
Fresh donut holes and coffee were enjoyed Wednesday as we read the newspaper. Men worked on the bird feeder project. The feeders are available for a $10 donation. Funds will be used to purchase a pool table.
Pastor Charles Priddy brought a devotional, and ice cream was served afterward. Peggy Brandt provided music for "happy hour" on her accordion with residents requesting their favorite songs.
Traditional hymn singing was enjoyed Thursday morning with Carla Koslowsky at the piano.
A favorite, bingo, was enjoyed Friday.
