Parkside Homes: Ens shares collection

We enjoyed a program Monday afternoon by Marilyn Ens who brought unique cookie cutters from her collection. The cutters came from different food products or depicted advertisement characters. They reminded us of days gone by. "The Christmas Box" was the Monday night movie shown at Congregate Apartments.

A large group enjoyed music appreciation Tuesday morning with Dave Clark. The weekly domino games were played in the afternoon.

We again enjoyed freshly made donut holes Wednesday morning as we read the newspapers. A time of memorial memories for Dorman Becker was held before the afternoon Bible class with John Savola. Ice cream was served after class. Cella Gross played the organ for us late that afternoon.

We welcomed in December Thursday by starting Advent devotionals at the morning meal. We were reminded not to get caught up in the commercial hustle and bustle of the season but to remember the real meaning of Christmas. The Hillsboro Middle School band brought a short program in the afternoon. A group of residents started decorating cookie houses after the band program.

As you celebrate Christmas and the giving of the greatest gift, remember to stop by and let us share our Christmas memories with you. You will hear of candles on trees, school house programs, special gifts made by hand, and families celebrating together the Savior's birth.
