Monday, the Parkside resident council met for their monthly meeting. Residents' rights were reviewed and comments and questions were discussed. The coming activities were announced, and suggestions were taken for June activities. In the evening the B-Hall household and their families enjoyed a front porch social. The families brought delicious desserts, and we sampled the desserts and had a good time visiting and listening to poetry about getting older.
The winners of the domino games played Tuesday afternoon were Jo Thye, Fern Unruh, and John Rempel. Cookies and coffee were served for refreshments.
A number of residents met before lunch Wednesday to review the local news. Pastor Keller led the Bible class Wednesday afternoon. Vanilla ice cream was served after the class.
The May women's tea was held Thursday afternoon in the Oscar Hett room. Janice Porter gave a presentation on Grandma Moses. Refreshments were fresh fruit bar and raspberry tea.
Bingo games called by Mariann Unruh were played by a room full of residents Friday afternoon. The winner of the blackout game was Lillian Plett. Bananas were given to all the bingo participants.
Afternoon popcorn was served on Saturday. Hillsboro Mennonite Brethren Church brought the Sunday worship service.
