The rhythm band gathered Monday afternoon and enjoyed the beat of old school songs and lively hymns. Monday was the birthday of the paper bag; to celebrate, the residents were served "supper in a bag."

Care plans were Tuesday morning. LeOra Grunau gave a morning organ concert. Eva Tessman, Helen Loewen, Frank Peters, Ben Ewert, and Dave Classen were the winners of the domino games played with volunteers.

The domino groups were served donuts to celebrate the birthday of the donut. The band of "Ah's" from Herington brought the evening program.

Ken Peterson spoke at the Wednesday Bible class. His topic was "The Love of God." The ice cream day flavor was chocolate, which was served with teddy bear bites to celebrate Teddy Bear Day. Residents and staff displayed their teddy bears. Celia Gross brought the afternoon organ concert.

Peggy Brandt led the Thursday morning hymn sing with Carla Koslowsky accompanying at the piano. Mabel Suderman gave the devotional with her family blessing us with a special song.

Residents were invited to the October birthday party in the afternoon. They were treated to the frivolous antics of Bubbles the Clown.

Friday morning the residents were treated to Krispy Kreme donuts and coffee during Kaffee Haus. The weekend quiz was handed out Friday afternoon. Martha Frantz was the blackout winner of the bingo games played Friday afternoon. Everyone was treated to deviled eggs to celebrate Egg Day.

Saturday afternoon popcorn was served. On Sunday at 9:30 a.m., Glen and Susie Kliewer began teaching a new Sunday School class for residents, which continued this week. The First Southern Baptist Church brought the afternoon worship service. The "Adopt a Grandparent" group met after the worship service.

Exercises and Kaffee Haus were daily. The Read Through the Bible in 2002 group continued reading the New Testament this week.
