Monday afternoon the residents enjoyed fresh New Year's cookies made by Shirley Hein in the Parkside kitchen. Residents sat around the tables and discussed how they were meeting their goal of reading the Bible through in one year. Residents formed a new group, "God's Word for Me in 2003." The group plans to read the Bible through during the coming year.
Tuesday afternoon, residents played dominoes and ate peppernuts. New Year's Day each hall family enjoyed a New Year's breakfast. Residents and their families participated in wheel chair races during the afternoon.
Thursday afternoon, Kathy Fish from the Hillsboro Public library read stories that reminded us of the past, and everyone was treated to chocolate ice cream.
Bingo games were played Friday afternoon. A crossword puzzle was given to residents to be enjoyed during the weekend.
Saturday afternoon, popcorn was served. Sunday afternoon, the worship service was given by First Mennonite Church.
Exercises with Teresa and Kaffee Haus were daily. The God's Word for Me in 2003 group began working on their goal to read the Bible through this year. Many of the people in this group just completed their goal to read the Bible through in 2002.
