Monday afternoon the Parkside Resident Council met with 12 members. They discussed the likes and dislikes of the new Park homes. Most felt apprehensive of change but willing to try some new concepts. Ice cream bars were enjoyed after the meeting.

Tuesday afternoon the Parkside dominoes group played a number of games. Ron Freeman and Dave Classen were the high scorers. Coffee and cookies were served during the games.

Wednesday the weekly Bible class was taught by David Fast. Peach ice cream was served after the class. Some residents enjoyed spending time outside watching the progress of Parkside's building project.

Thursday Carla Koslowsky played piano for the weekly hymn sing. Parkside held an auction for the residents in the afternoon. Residents were given "money" to purchase treasures that were donated by the staff.

Friday morning after breakfast, a group of residents gathered for a corn shucking party on the east patio. Residents were able to shuck 156 ears of corn. We have done this for four years and not found one worm. The kitchen fixed us some of the corn for lunch. It was delicious.

The bingo games were called on Friday afternoon by Mariann Unruh. Each player received a banana for participating. The blackout-winner was Sarah Friesen. The weekend trivia paper was delivered to all residents.

Theater popcorn was served Saturday afternoon.

Gene Magnuson taught the morning Sunday school class. United Methodist Church was in charge of the afternoon worship service.
