Parkside Homes: Residents celebrate July 4

Bob Fenstermacher spoke at the Monday afternoon memorial service for Eda Meinen. LeOra Grunau played the organ.

Care plans were Tuesday morning. Rosalie Suderman, Ben Ewert and Otto Hiebert were the winners of the domino games played with volunteers. Raphael Noregia brought an evening program of guitar music.

Peggy Brandt spoke at the Wednesday Bible class. Strawberry was the ice cream day flavor.

The staff had a special celebrate the fourth party Thursday afternoon for the residents. There were games, prizes, music and fun. Residents also enjoyed family visits.

Mabel Suderman gave a devotional Friday morning. Ashley Brandt handed out the weekend quiz in the afternoon. Ida Frantz was the blackout winner of the bingo games called by Mariann Unruh and helper Mabel Klassen.

Popcorn was served Saturday afternoon. On Sunday morning, Kaethe Warkentin continued a study on I Corinthians during the weekly Sunday school lesson. The First Mennonite Church was in charge of the afternoon worship service with Helen Schmidt serving as hostess.

Exercises and kaffee haus were daily, and the week's topic of the Genesis Club was baking. The Read the Bible Through in 2002 group is reading in the book of Psalms this week.
