Parkside Homes: Residents take surrey ride

Care plans were done on Monday morning. Sixteen residents and staff took a spring surrey ride around the budding areas of Hillsboro in the afternoon.
Residents and volunteers played domino games Tuesday afternoon. Schnetka and coffee were served for refreshments. The Gospel messengers brought the evening program.
Gaylord Goertzen taught the Wednesday Bible study, speaking on "Twenty-five Cents of Care." Esther Ollenburger celebrated her birthday by treating everyone to cake and ice cream after the Bible class.
The annual "Craft of the Ages" craft fair was a big event at Parkside Thursday afternoon. Many residents shared memories and handwork done in past years. The items included poems, art work, wood crafts, family antiques, memories, and collections. An assortment of delicious bars and coffee were served for refreshments.
Bingo games called by Mariann Unruh were played by a room full of residents in the afternoon. Bananas were given to all the bingo participants.
Afternoon popcorn was served on Saturday. On Sunday morning, the Kliewers taught the Sunday school class. John Ratzlaff brought the afternoon worship service.
