Pastor Wiens celebrates birthday

Ladies from Hillsboro who attended the monthly meeting of Baptist Kings Daughters in Durham on Thursday evening were Kelly Bettles, Kay Carlson, Donna Diener, Shirley Hamm, Betty Meier, Carol Ollenburger, Edie Ollenburger, Arlene Pankratz, and Frances Unruh. The lesson was "Loving Muslim Women through Prayer," given by Shirley Hamm. Muriel Christiansen gave a mission study from the Colemans who work with Campus Crusade in Texas. Kay Carlson and Kelly Bettles were hostesses.
Will and Ashley Goertzen from Siloam Springs, Ark., spent their spring break with their parents, Gaylord and Peggy Goertzen and Don and Jean Krebs in Hillsboro.
On Thursday afternoon, Paul and Arlene Pankratz visited Jan and Luella Burkhart in Newton.
The Young Seniors Sunday school class from First Baptist Church in Durham took Pastor Wiens and Connie out for dinner Thursday evening to celebrate the pastor's birthday. Couples form Hillsboro who attended were Duwane and Jane Miller, Dean and Edie Ollenburger, Duane and Shirley Hamm, Wayne and Carol Ollenburger, and Fred and Kay Carlson.
On March 9, the following families met for lunch at Great Bend. They were Lowell and Eleanor Jost, Amber, Karis and Logan, Jerry and Joan Jost, and Karen, Jandee and Kaylee Miles from Hillsboro; the Keith Jost family from McPherson; and Charles and Twila Siebert, Amy, Heather, and Christine from Garden City.
Visitors at the home of Clarence and Mary Seibel on Saturday were Gene and Sue Seibel form Edwardsville, Ill., Becca Sipe from Springfield, Mo., Jake and Darlene Koslowsky from Newton, Wallace Seibel from Wichita, Ron Seibel of Clearwater and the Lowell Jost family.
