PBHS-PBJH runners win six medals

Six Peabody-Burns High and Junior High School runners earned medals Thursday at the Chapman invitational.
Andrew Topham won the junior-senior boys' 3.1-mile race with a time of 16 minutes, 40 seconds. Other finishers included Robert Rossberg 28th, Jacob Wolf 29th, Jesse Riggs 57th, and Dane Lau 60th.
In the freshman-sophomore boys' race Duane Unruh took eighth place and Ryan Wiebe earned the final medal with a 20th-place finish. Other finishers were Kendall Wiebe 29th, Ethan Riggs 47th, Seth Methvin 56th, and Joe Zappone 67th.
Alyssa Carter was the girls' top medalist finishing 11th in the two-mile junior-senior race with a time of 13:59. Jennifer Schmeling finished 23rd, Ashley Elliot 30th, and Jacqueline Benjamin 37th.
For the freshman-sophomore race girls' race, Samantha Pickens was 49th and Erica Frederick 53rd.
PBJH runner Aaron Topham took ninth in the one-mile race with a time of 6:06. Other finisher included Sheldon Wiebe 21st, Isaac Burnett 27th, Martin Hofkamp 33rd, Jordan Riggs 34th, and Josh Sevart 38th.
Lauren Pickens claimed a fourth-place medal in the girls' one-mile with a time of 6:25. Michaela Methvin was 17th and Heather Brooks 39th.
