Peachey is VP at Bethel

Bethel College President E. LaVerne Epp has announced the hiring of Lowell J. Peachey, Hillsboro, for the position of vice president of business affairs. Peachey, who will also serve on the college's administrative cabinet, will begin Jan. 15.

Peachey is currently giving leadership to a private consulting company that markets leadership development and training. He was president and CEO of The Roxbury Bank from 1993 until 2002. He served as country manager for Mennonite Economic Development Associates in Haiti from 1990 to 1993. He was an officer at banks in Kalona and Muscatine, Iowa, and was a branch manager for ITT Financial Services at locations in Iowa. He also has farming experience in Virginia.

Peachey received an associate's degree in agriculture at Hesston College and earned a bachelor's degree in business administration at Iowa Wesleyan College. He completed the graduate school of banking at the University of Wisconsin at Madison.

In addition to his professional activities, Peachey is a member of the boards of the Mennonite Economic Development Association (MEDA) and its subsidiaries. He is also on the board of Prairie View, Inc., and serves as a trustee for Western District Conference of Mennonite Church USA.

He is married to Rita, and they have four children. The family attends First Mennonite Church in Hillsboro.

LaVerne Epp says. "Bethel will benefit from Lowell's entrepreneurial spirit and commitment to the broader church."
