Pharm Cooking: We're making wedding plans

My planner looks like a strategic plan for the invasion on Iraq. Maybe I should call the Pentagon and offer it to them!

I love the holidays but this year seems more complicated than ever. I've been on an entertaining kick for Tabor kids and Sunday school classes. I'm planning ahead to even more entertaining. Now all I have to do is pull it off.

Our older son is gong to Paraguay and Brazil for three weeks over Christmas, and we will go to Kansas City to celebrate with him on Dec. l3. As of Friday night, we have another reason to go — to help plan a wedding! He and his girlfriend, Kristy, have set a date in May. We are very excited. I have always tried to help out my sons by suggesting nice girls for them to date, but they never seemed to appreciate my efforts! I must admit that I could not have found a more perfect match for Cameron than Kristy.

He had an elaborate proposal all planned out and then almost made himself sick worrying if he would remember everything he wanted to say. It was during a Thanksgiving celebration with all the cell group leaders in his church. He is the cell group coordinator. It is all on video, and we are anxious to see it.

I have heard that the job of the mother of the groom is to wear beige and keep her mouth shut! That will be hard for me because I don't look good in beige!

They are traveling with a group from their church over the holidays. It will be more than 100 degrees down there which will not seem like the traditional Christmas. Also, watermelon is a Christmas dinner staple I understand.

I'm trying recipes for holiday parties. A hot dip was a hit with the guinea pigs at the pharmacy. That is the best thing about having a willing to try anything crew! I'm sure I can account on them for lots of holiday festivity advice and ways to wear beige at a wedding!
