Police investigate burglaries
Officer Chad Funk investigated a burglary June 10 at the residence of David Schwan Harvey in Hillsboro. Reportedly, the suspect(s) broke into the Harvey residence through the rear door and removed a Playstation2, nine Playstation games, three DVDs, and a VCR some time between June 6 and June 10. The total loss was estimated at $990.
Officer Daniel Kinning investigated a burglary June 14. Reportedly, the suspect(s) removed golf clubs belonging to Michael Fisher and Harold Schultz from their golf bags which were stored at Hillsboro Municipal Golf Course. The loss was estimated at $550.
Officer David Funk investigated an accident June 3 on D Street. Jason Funk of Hillsboro, driving a 1992 Pontiac Grand Am, was westbound on D when his vehicle struck the rear of a bicycle ridden by Andrew Waldbauer of Hillsboro. Waldbauer was also westbound on D. Waldbauer was transported to Hillsboro Community Medical Center by Hillsboro Ambulance.
Officer Jessey Hiebert investigated an accident June 16 in the parking lot of Trinity Mennonite Church on Elm Street. Amelia J. Brandt of Hillsboro, driving a 1997 Chevrolet, was backing and struck a parked 1996 Mitsubishi owned by Ashley Friesen of Hillsboro.
