Police investigate thefts at Tabor College
On Jan. 10 Karly Winter, employee of Tabor College, reported a burglary at the girls' quad. A suspect(s) entered the basement and removed a Durabrand 27-inch television valued at $169 and an Emerson DVD/VCR combo valued at $80. Daniel Kinning was the reporting officer.
Mary C. Bostic, employee of Tabor College, reported on Jan. 17 the theft of $40 in U.S. currency, two hooded Tabor sweatshirts, one Tabor T-shirt, and a briefcase from Tabor College. The stolen merchandise was valued at $191. Damage to a door lock and doors was estimated at $625. A suspect(s) entered the cafeteria building; forced entry into the food services office, the snackbar, and the bookstore; and removed items. Daniel Kinning was the investigating officer.
On Jan. 21 Anthony Fulton of Duckwall-Alco in Hillsboro reported the theft of music CD's. A suspect was caught shoplifting a CD and also suspected of taking other CDs on two previous days. The suspected admitted taking three more CDs. Charges are pending against a 45-year-old Hillsboro man. David Funk was the investigating officer.
On Jan. 22, Jessica Vannocker of rural Hillsboro, driving a 1990 Pontiac Grand Am, was southbound on Ash Street turning west onto Grand Street. Michael Reeh of Hillsboro, driving a 1996 Chevrolet pickup, was eastbound on Grand approaching Ash when his vehicle slid on the ice hitting the front of the Vannocker vehicle. No injuries were reported. Daniel Kinning was the reporting officer.
