Ralph Haslouer

Ralph Charles Haslouer, 81, of Abilene died March 2, 2004, at his home.

Born May 23, 1922, in the Purdy community, south of Abilene, he was the son of Charles and Carrie (Kohman) Haslouer.

He graduated from Abilene High School in 1940. He was a veteran of W. W. II serving in the U.S. Navy.

On Feb. 12, 1945, he married Bonnie Lou McDonald.

He was a farmer and stockman south of Abilene for many years.

He was a member of the St. Andrews Catholic Church, the Abilene Elks Lodge, and the Kansas Livestock Association.

He served on the Navarre Co-op board and the Purdy School Board.

He was preceded in death by his parents, two grandchildren, and sister, Rosemary Kurtenbach.

Survivors include his wife of the home; sons, Chuck Haslouer and Bill Haslouer, both of Hope; daughters, Louise Bevilacqua of Wichita, Jeanne Rziha of Tampa, Janey Hummel of Colorado Springs, Colo., Susan Denney of Independence, Mary Monaco of Las Vegas, Nev., Carol Whitehair of Abilene, and Patricia Jolly of Milford, Neb.; sisters, Marie Peterlin of Chicago, Ill., Agnes Kurtenbach of Herington, and Dorothy Jilka of Roeland Park; 33 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.

A mass of Christian burial was held Saturday at the St. Andrews Catholic Church with Father Randall Weber officiating. Burial was at Mount St. Joseph Cemetery.

The family suggests memorial contributions in his memory be given to the Mount St. Joseph Cemetery tree fund and may be sent to Danner Funeral Home, P.O. Box 758, Abilene, KS 67410.
