Ralph Peters
Ralph Henry Peters, 76, of Goessel died May 15, 2002 at Bethesda Home in Goessel, after suffering from Parkinson's disease for 20 years.
Born April 11, 1926, in Marion County, he was the son of Peter J. and Marie (Peters) Peters.
In 1948, he married Martha Bartel.
He was a farmer and bus driver. He was a member of Alexanderwohl Mennonite Church and served as a deacon and taught Sunday school. He was a member of the local cooperative board and served as regional coordinator of Mennonite Disaster Service.
He was preceded in death by three brothers, Dietrich, Abe, and Gerhard; and two sisters, Edna Marek and Norma Peters.
Survivors include his wife of the home; sons, Rodney and wife Linda (Flynn) Peters and Delbert and wife Janine (Flaming) Peters, all of rural Hillsboro; daughter Norma and her husband Phil of Orville, Ohio; five grandchildren; brother Harvey Peters of Hillsboro; and sisters, Elsie Friday and Verna Funk, both of Hillsboro.
A memorial service was held May 18 at Alexanderwohl Mennonite Church with Ron Krehbiel officiating. Burial was at the church cemetery.
Memorial funds have been established with Bethesda Home and Alexanderwohl Mennonite Church for the Board of Education.
