Registration forms available for Kansas Senior Olympics
Registration forms are available for the 22nd Annual Kansas Senior Olympics, sponsored by Parks and Recreation of Topeka. An estimated 600 athletes from around Kansas and the United States are expected to compete this year at the games in Topeka.
The 2005 Kansas Senior Olympics offers competition in 17 different sports for individuals who will be 50 and over by Dec. 31, 2005. These sports include archery, badminton, 3-on-3 basketball (teams), bowling, cycling, golf, horseshoes, racquetball, road races, shuffleboard, softball (teams), swimming, table tennis, tennis, track and field, and volleyball (teams).
For the not-so-serious athlete there also are 11 just-for-fun events.
The individual and doubles competition will be held Sept. 22-25; team sports will be Sept. 29 through Oct. 2; and the golf competition will be held on Sept. 30. The early deadline for registration is Aug. 12 with a cost of $35 per athlete. The final deadline will be Aug. 26, with a cost of $45.
