Reporter says 'Thanks'
Every once in awhile, a story comes along that makes a writer glad that he or she is a writer. This week, the story about Al Schroeder was one of them.
I truly enjoyed learning about Al's life and hearing the good things that family and friends had to say about him. It's a very compelling story, and I hope I did it justice. All I can say is, I tried.
This column is to thank the Schroeder family for allowing Al's story to be told. I know that this is a personal matter, and bringing up the death of a loved one from more than 60 years ago is bound to bring up many memories.
So to the Schroeder family, thank you for allowing me to share this story.
