"Look at these nice, new streets," "Those sidewalks are pretty," "New street lamps too!" and "Hey what happened to the traffic light?" were just a few of the comments heard on the Parkside surrey as we took a Monday afternoon tour of Hillsboro's refurbished Main Street. Thank you, McDonalds, for an ice cream treat during our ride.
Walter Meljo, Ben Ewert, Fern Unruh and Kaethe Warkentin were the winners of the domino games played Tuesday afternoon. Refreshments were served.
David Fast brought the Bible class lesson Wednesday afternoon. Vanilla ice cream was served after the class.
Thursday a few HMS students helped Parkside residents with the Mars Project. We learned to describe edible rocks and other facts about Mars. September birthdays were also celebrated with a Mars birthday cake.
Every Friday of this month is Hat Day, and those wearing hats receive a treat. The afternoon bingo games were called by Maryann Unruh. All players received a banana for participating. The weekend quiz was delivered.
Theater popped corn was served Saturday afternoon, and Mark IV brought the Sunday afternoon service.
