Rex Guhr

Rena Dwaine "Rex" Guhr, 52, rural Newton, died June 18, 2007, at Via Christi Medical Center-St. Joseph campus, Wichita.

Born July 3, 1954, at Goessel, he was the son of Daniel and Velma (Schmidt) Guhr.

On Oct. 11, 2002, he married Connie Hayes at Newton.

He was a truck driver.

He was preceded in death by two brothers, Marlin and Clayton Guhr; and a sister, Delia Duerksen.

Survivors include his wife, Connie of rural Newton; three sons, Jason Guhr of Herington, Nevin Guhr of McPherson, and Nathaniel Guhr of Lindsborg; stepson, Jack Lyon of Goessel; two daughters, Charissa Guhr of Goessel and Kendra Guhr of Salina; two sisters, Wilma Copeland of Iowa and Elfrieda Schmidt of Omaha, Neb.; and one grandchild.

Funeral services were Friday morning at Tabor Mennonite Church, Goessel, with Pastor Corey Miller and Pastor Karen Andres officiating.

Burial was in Tabor Mennonite Church Cemetery.

A memorial fund has been established with Road Angel Ministries.
