Richard Barkman
Richard E. Barkman, 72, founder of Barkman Honey and Artesian Honey Producers, died March 12, 2008, at Hillsboro.
Born Sept. 17, 1935, near Hillsboro, he was the son of Esra and Emilie (Esau) Barkman.
On June 26, 1960, he married Joyce Brandt at Hillsboro.
He was a member of Parkview Mennonite Brethren Church, Hillsboro.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Paul.
Survivors include his wife, Joyce of Hillsboro; son, Brent and Lynette Barkman of Hillsboro; daughter, Carmon and Ken Jones of Hillsboro; brother, Jim Barkman of California; sister, Lucy Spohn of Colorado; and five grandchildren.
Funeral services were Tuesday evening at Parkview Mennonite Brethren Church with Pastor Keith Nash officiating.
Burial was in Gnadenau Cemetery, rural Hillsboro.
Memorial funds have been established with Harry Hynes Memorial Hospice, Caring Bridges, Lewy Body Dementia Association, or Gideons.
