On Monday Jay and Luella Burkhart of Newton visited at the home of Paul and Arlene Pankratz and also with Harry Pankratz at Parkside Homes.
Roger and Lorene Shumaker of Hillsboro left in December for Texas and Louisiana and returned in early March. They visited their daughter Karen Stephenson, her husband and children in Ft. Worth, Texas, and their son Duane Shumaker and his wife in Bossier City, Louisiana.
Shumaker's granddaughter, Misty Shumaker, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Duane Shumaker, graduated from Louisiana Tech and was pinned and received her diploma in associate science of nursing. Roger and Lorene attended her graduation before returning home.
Mr. and Mrs. Virgil Oblander spent several days in Missouri visiting Georgie Medley at Liberty, Mo., and Marci Oblander at Shell Knob. Mo.
Family from a distance who attended LuElla Jost's funeral services last Sunday were her daughter Twila and husband Charles Siebert and daughters of Garden City; her grandsons the Keith Jost family of McPherson and Kent Jost family of Hesston; nieces and nephews from out of town were Bobbi Sue Reimer of Norman, Okla.; Daryl and Marlene Klassen of Loveland, Colo., and Raymond and Jane Fertig of Ellinwood and a close family friend Conrad Penner from Sarasota, Fla.
