On Saturday evening Oliver and Frances Unruh attended an engagement party for their granddaughter, Sarah Unruh, in Wichita. A May 25 wedding is being planned.
Kim and Delora Kaufman celebrated their 25th wedding anniversary with a seven-day cruise to the Western Caribbean. They stopped in Hispaniola, Jamaica, Grand Cayman Island, and Cozumel, Mexico.
Mr. and Mrs. Oliver Mohn accompanied by Mr. and Mrs. Gordon Mohn of Hillsboro, Jenny Mohn from the University in Shawnee, Oklahoma and Jeremy Mohn from Spring Hill traveled to Houston, Texas, on Wednesday to attend funeral services for the Mohns' grandson, Chris Mohn. Chris is the son of Jeryl and Vicki Mohn of Houston. The Bob Haug family from Jetmore and Jason Mohn from Naperville, Ill., also attended the funeral services.
Verden and Pauline Harms spent last weekend in Kansas City visiting their children and grandchildren. On Wednesday the Harmses spent the day with their friend Peg Applebee in Concordia.
Mr. and Mrs. Leonard Hein, rural Hillsboro, celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary with an open house at the Trinity Mennonite Church in Hillsboro on Feb. 10. They were married on Valentine's Day 50 years ago. All of their children and grandchildren were present plus many other family and friends.
Olive and Elizabeth Unruh, rural Hillsboro, were among many who attended the Leonard Hein's 50th wedding anniversary open house.
House guests at Pauline Winter's last weekend were Terry and Janet Winter of Wichita, Charles Winter and a friend Marcie from North Carolina, and Mistie Kelsey and daughter from Kentucky. Pauline and her guests all attended the wedding of Brandon and Karen Setzkorn both of Hillsboro at the Zion Lutheran Church on Friday evening. Brandon is the son of Terry and Janet Winter. The newlyweds will be living in Hillsboro.
Agnes Steinert, Beryl Steiner, Lorene Kleiber, and Irene Novak of Hillsboro; Eleanor Herbel, Helen Costello, Bonnie Crandall, Tillie Hein, Adeline Bernhardt, and Leona Kleiber all of Tampa had dinner together at Cheryl's Café in Canton on Friday.
Mr. and Mrs. Brad Boyd, Leah and Jack of Meade were Saturday evening visitors of Pearl Koch after Tabor's basketball game. Their daughter Rosann is a Tabor student. Rosanne, accompanied by her mother, sang at the Baptist Church in Durham Sunday morning.
