Mr. and Mrs. Lyle Kleoper and Lisa from Broken Arrow, Okla., and the Tom Fleener family from El Dorado were weekend guests of Pearl Koch.

Larry and Bonnie Winter from Silver Lake called at the Edwin Winters on Friday.

Elgin and Rubena Bartel were guests at an engagement party for their granddaughter, Deidra Ewert, and her fiancé, John Creamer, at the home of Tyler and Diane Ewert in Wichita. Other guests from the Hillsboro area were Rollind and Melissa Bartel, the Milford Klaassen family, Arpa Ewert, Roxanne Ewert, Earl Ewert, and Harris and Debbie Ewert.

Carl and Anne Jantzen, brother of Paul Jantzen, from Ohio visited in the area last week. One day, Carl and Anne, Bob and Ruth Unruh from Hutchinson and Paul and Elaine Jantzen from Hillsboro did sightseeing at Quivera Wild Life Refuge near Pratt.

Weekend guests at Bill and Betty Meier's were Julie Meier, Wade and Kris Bredemeier and Jeremy and Marie Bredemeier, all from Colorado. On Saturday evening, the Meier family had a dinner in Wichita to celebrate Bill and Betty's 60th wedding anniversary. Additional guests were Socco and Willabeth Gonzalez from Newton, Laura Rowe from Washburn University in Topeka, Regan Rowe of Council Grove, and Bob Whitney from Newton.

Oliver and Marcella Mohn visited at the home of Paul and Arlene Pankratz Thursday evening.

Shirley Hamm and her sister, Norma Ballard, of Topeka were guests of their sister Eileen Greikspoor in Wichita Wednesday and Thursday. They also visited Janet Christenson on Thursday.

Duane and Shirley Hamm and Norma Ballard attended the Alan Jackson-Martina McBride concert Friday evening in Wichita. Norma returned to her home on Saturday in Topeka.

Ray Brandt hosted a surprise birthday dinner for his wife, Grace, on April 5. The dinner was at Charlie's Restaurant in Newton. Guests were her children, Mike and Deb Brandt and Julie Brandt; grandchildren, Amelia Brandt, Zachary Brandt and Dustin Hendricks. Additional guests were Alvin and Wilma Schmidt, Arnold and Wilma Voth of rural Newton; Stan Bohn of Newton; Dorothy and Homer Goering of Moundridge; Pam and Doug Bartel, Leonard and Hazel Hein, Joyce Barkman, Lloyd Anderson, all of Hillsboro; and Marlene Irvin of Canton.
