Weekend guests at the Paul Pankratzes were Althea Zimmerman and Beth Platt, both from Missouri. Additional guests were Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Seibel and Mr. and Mrs. Jay Burkhart from Newton. Althea and Beth also visited Hannah Ollenburger and Mollie Zimmerman.
Doug and Debbie Dick hosted a birthday party on Sunday for Daniel's 12th birthday. Guests were Ella Dick, Gordon and Doris Dalke, Norma and Howard Schmidt, all of Hillsboro, and Kendall and Carrie Heide and children of Wichita.
Bill and Betty Meier were among others from the area who attended a retirement party for Karl Vogt at the Stone Cross Church in Hesston.
Wilmer and Marilyn Bartel and family were weekend guests at the home of Paul and Joanie Douglass at Parson.
Weekend guests at the Doug Bartels, Kyle and Kelsey were Ryan and Tanya Bartel from Overland Park. Kelsey spent from Sunday to Wednesday with Ryan and Tanya.
Wilbur and Florence Riffel were weekend guests at the home of their son, Rick and Kim Riffel, at Phillipsburg. On Saturday, they attended the wedding of their grandson, Matthew Riffel, and Chrystal Jacobs at the Lutheran Church in Shuggart.
Oliver and Marcella Mohn and Gordon and Vicky Mohn of Hillsboro, and Bob and Karen Haug from Jetmore traveled Thursday to Denver. On Friday, they attended the funeral services for Oliver's sister, Olinda Becker. They returned home on Saturday.
