Round the Town: Area residents celebrate Mother's Day

Kim and Delora Kaufman hosted a celebration dinner for their son Jesse, who graduated from Hesston College on May 4. Those that attended were Joshua and Denny Johnson from Auburn, Anthony Kaufman and Lenny Ellis of Newton, Cameron and Brenda Reimer and family of Marion, Aaron Reimer, Tom and Sherry Kaufman and family, Ruth Bartel of Hillsboro, Dalmer and Janice Kaufman, Debbie, Sienne and Cole Kaufman, Kem, Kara, Chris, and Steven Chisholm of Durham.
Norma Ballard from Topeka spent several days with Duane and Shirley Hamm. Shirley and Norma spent one day with their sister, Eileen Griekspoor in Wichita. Their sister, Dee Venita Waggner from Sedgwick also joined them in Wichita.
Pauline Winter was a Mother's Day guest at her son and family, Mr. and Mrs. Terry Winter and family, in Wichita.
Wayne and Kimberly Koch from Wichita were Sunday dinner guests at Pearl Koch's.
Last Sunday afternoon, Paul and Arlene Pankratz visited Herb, Trudy, and Andrew Pankratz at Abilene.
Coleen Weinbrenner, Candace, and Brett and Coleen's mother, Pat Ford of Newton, spent last weekend in Colorado Springs, Colo. They went especially to attend the surprise 40th birthday party for Coleen's sister, Sherry Wilson.
On Mother's Day, the Dirks and Weinbrenner families had dinner together at Olde Towne Restaurant in Hillsboro. Those attending were the Doug Weinbrenner family, Dennis and Lori Funk and family, all of Hillsboro; Richard and Kathy Dirks of Tampa, Charles and Pat Ford of Newton; Don and Joyce Weinbrenner of Lehigh; Bryan and Aimee Weinbrenner and family, and Tammy and Alan Weinbrenner and family of McPherson.
Josephine Eslingher from Canton visited at the Paul Pankratzes on Friday afternoon.
Corey and Holly Fessenden from Oklahoma City, Okla., and David and Sherilyn Kadel from Randall, visited at the Paul Pankratzes on Sunday afternoon. In the evening, the above and Ken Pankratz of Durham were Mother's Day supper guests at the Tim Dieners. Emily Diener was also there from K-State in Manhattan.
Mr. and Mrs. Lowell Jost of Hillsboro and Mrs. Frances Quintana of Emporia attended the Chanute High School graduation on May 11. Among the graduates were Chase Ernest Muninger and Tyler Lee Seibel.
