Round the town: College students come for visit

Mike Penner, who is attending college at Fort Hays State University, spent the weekend with his parents, Dennis and Judy Penner.

Marilyn Baker from Bakersfield, Calif., has been a house guest of her mother Alma McCoy in Hillsboro. She also visited her sister, Marsha Welsch, and her aunt, Alene Engel, and other family and friends in the area.

Scott Winter from K-State in Manhattan spent the weekend with his parents, Norman and Gloria Winter.

On Friday, Mr. and Mrs. Edwin Winter attended the monthly board meeting of the Senior Citizens of Marion County at the Peabody Senior Center.

Sacarra and Willabeth Gonzales of Newton visited at the Bill Meier home on Sunday evening.

Ladies from Hillsboro who attended the November meeting of Durham Baptist Kings Daughters Thursday evening were Kay Carlson, Donna Diener, Shirley Hamm, Pearl Koch, Betty Meier, Marcella Mohn, Carol Ollenburger, Edie Ollenburger, and Arlene Pankratz. Eleanor Herbel had the lesson entitled "Renaissance of the Heart." For mission study Chris Herbel showed a video on the Mouk tribe in New Guinea. Pearl Koch and Jane Vajnar were hostesses.

Georgia Medley and her son Mitch from Missouri were weekend guests at the Virgil Oblanders. They also visited Georgia's mother Ruth Peters at HCMC Long Term Care Unit.

Mr. and Mrs. Herb Pankratz and Andrew visited at the Paul Pankratz home on Saturday morning.
