Round the town: Influx of relatives arrive for graduation

Irene Seibel attended graduation at K-State on Saturday for her grandson, Chris Seibel, son of Clint and Evelyn Seibel. Other family there were his parents, Clint and Evelyn, Josh and Dionne Guddat from Grand Junction, Colo., and Jeremy and Jody Glanzer from Texas.
On May 11 the Gary Penners hosted a family dinner in honor of their son Cody's baptism.
On Saturday Gary and Terry Penner had a reception and open house in honor of Tania's high school graduation, and on Sunday they had family as guests for dinner.
Weekend visitors at the Floyd Millers and other family and friends in the area who came especially for the Thiessen-Friesen wedding were Glen and Connie Fredreick and Amy from Tucson, Ariz., Rick Crause from Las Vegas, and the Kenneth Smith family from Olathe.
On Saturday Liz Lancaster, daughter of Dave and Mary Lancaster, graduated from Truman State University in Kirksville, Mo., with a degree in business administration. Family attending the graduation were her parents, Dave and Mary, her brother Dirk from Lindsborg, her grandparents George and Lucille Lancaster, Betsy Reese, Kevin Kuhlman, Mark and Mary Lancaster, Chris and Lori Lancaster (all from the Kansas City area), and Gary and Linda Meier from Nebraska. After the graduation they all had refreshments at Liz's apartment.
On Sunday Liz's parents moved her to St. Louis, where she will be employed in the marketing branch of Target.
Mr. and Mrs. Doug Weinbrenner hosted a reception for their son Tyler's high school graduation at Parkview's activity center for family and friends after the graduation exercises.
Peter Bartel, son of Wilmer and Marilyn Bartel, had eighth-grade promotion at Elyria Christian School. His grandparents Wilbert and Alvina Bartel and Jean Beauchamp of Hillsboro also attended the promotion and a reception at the school.
On Tuesday evening, Mr. and Mrs. Oliver Mohn and Mr. and Mrs. Gordon Mohn attended Tiffany Haug's eighth-grade promotion at Jetmore. Tiffany is the daughter of Bob and Karen Haug.
Out-of-town relatives attending the graduation of Karis Jost were Gene and Sue Seibel of Edwardsville, Ill.; Charles, Twilla, Amy, Heather, and Christine Siebert of Garden City; Keith Jost of McPherson; Kent, Diane, Ashlee, Cole, and Ali Jost of Hesston; Elmer and Dorothy Seibel and Wallace Seibel of Wichita; Frances Quintana of Emporia, and Jake and Darlene Koslowsky of Newton.
They also took part in a reception held at Parkview M.B. Church. Graduates having their receptions at Parkview were Candace Barkman, Angie Claassen, Laci Frantz, Karis Jost, Adam Miller, Ben Walker, Tyler Weinbrenner, and Melanie Wiebe.
The Laubhan family cousins held a reunion on Saturday, May 24, at the Durham Community Building. Hosts for the reunion were the Dave Laubhan family. Those attending were Glenn and Sue Laubhan and Lavern and Kay Laubhan of Salina; Rick and Barbara Laubhan from Overland Park; Eldon and Garrett Laubhan of Augusta; and Janice Laubhan, Carol and Herman Anson and Julie Stewart and children, all of Stillwater, Okla.
Others attending were Marvin and Maggie Meisinger of Marion; and Ken and Vicky Meisinger of Marion, Iowa; Evelyn Sherry, John Coleman, Pam, Tyler, Travis, Ashley, and Joshua, all of Haysville; John and Bonnie Coleman and Amanda of Wichita; Allen and Alma Schlehuber, Phyllis Neuenschwander, Tom and Laurie Koslowsky, Ed and Jan Meisinger, and Merle, and Marolyn and Maci Schlehuber, all of Hillsboro.
