Round the town: Many attend reunions, graduations

Mr. and Mrs. Roger Frantz and Alvin Nickel from California visited at the Paul Pankratzes on Friday afternoon. They came to Kansas especially to attend their granddaughter's graduation from Tabor College.

Saturday morning visitors at the Pankratzes were Paul and Ruby Sjodin from Omaha, Neb., and Trudy and Andrew Pankratz from Abilene.

Mr. and Mrs. Bill Meier attended their granddaughter's, Laura Rowe, high school graduation at Newton High School. Others from this area who attended were Dean and Edith Ollenburger of Hillsboro, the DeLayne Herbel family of Lehigh, and Eunice Klein from Marion.

Debbie Luna from Lowell, Mass., has been visiting Pearl Koch and other family and friends in the area.

Saturday noon, Marcella Mohn and Arlene Pankratz met their cousins Frances Kreutziger of Marion, Evelyn Bradbury from Colorado, Elfea Townsend and her daughter Carolyn from Wichita in Marion and had lunch together.

The Riffel family had a reunion on Sunday with a picnic at the Abilene Park at noon and in the evening a wiener roast and fishing at the Riffel farm near Woodbine. Those there were Wilbur and Florence Hett of Hillsboro; Von and Norma Pschigoda of Hope; Rod and Mary Riffel, Mandi and Megan from Rose Hill; Rick and Kim Riffel, Alexa and Isaac from Phillipsburg; Matthew Riffel and friend Chrystal from Lawrence; Brennan and Christy Riffel and family from Sterling; and Chad and Stacey Fishhauser and family from White City.

Duwane and Jane Miller, Wayne and Carol Ollenburger, and Elma Klein of Hillsboro and Darlene Polson from LaMar, Iowa, spent from Sunday afternoon to Monday morning at Country Dreams Bed and Breakfast east of Marion.

Darlene Polson from LaMar, Iowa, spent a week in Hillsboro and visited family and friends. She was a house guest at the Wayne Ollenburgers. She came especially to attend her 60th high school class reunion on Saturday.

Monday evening Duane and Jane Miller were guests of J.C. and Florence Ehrlick near Marion for a hamburger fry.
