Round the town: Miller turns 80 years ago

Georgie Medley from Liberty, Mo., was a weekend guest at the Virgil Oblanders. She also visited her mother, Ruth Peters, at Salem Home.

Glen and Connie Fredrick and Amy from Tucson, Ariz., are visiting in the area, and on Monday evening they called on Hannah Ollenburger.

Duane and Shirley Hamm spent Tuesday in Wichita to help their granddaughter, Sarah Christensen, celebrate her 14th birthday.

Everett and Josephine Eslinger from Canton visited Ida and Martha Frantz at Parkside Homes and Paul and Arlene Pankratz Tuesday evening.

Last Sunday evening Clara and Alma Toews of Hillsboro and Ray and Phyllis Hiebert and family from Lehigh visited with Orlan and Annabel Becker in Hillsboro.

Clara and Alma Toews spent the weekend with Terry and Joyce Ensz and family at Cimarron.

Darrel and Beverly Klein from Ft. Collins, Colo., visited in the Hillsboro area last weekend. They came especially for their mother's, Elma Klein, birthday celebration on Sunday.

LaVern Miller was the honored guest for his 80th birthday at a reception at the Scout House on Saturday afternoon. His family Marlin and Nancy Miller from Wichita, Alfred and Ruth Monares and Norman Miller from Newton, and Robert and Marlene Herzet from Hillsboro hosted the reception for their dad. Out-of-state family who came for the reception were Gene and Lorna Kissinger from Colorado, Glen and Connie Frederick and Amy from Arizona and Rick Crause from Nevada plus many family and friends from the area.

While here, Glen and Connie Frederick and Amy visited Floyd and Aileen Miller, Kirby and Kathy Rector, Linda and Wayne Friesen, Pearl Koch, Ethel Bartel, Hannah Ollenburger, and Sylvia Grothe.
