Round the Town: Residents report Christmas gatherings

Mr. and Mrs. Oliver Unruh, Mr. and Mrs. Wilbur Hanneman, and Mr. and Mrs. Norman Ensz attended funeral services Monday for Ethel Jantz at Canton.
Mr. and Mrs. Duwane Miller had a birthday dinner on Sunday for their cousin Dean Ollenburger. Other guests were Edie Ollenburger, Mr. and Mrs. J.C. Ehrlich, and Mr. and Mrs. Paul Pankratz.
Kevin, Ryan, Ben, and Bonnie Klaassen of Big Springs, Texas, came Thursday to spend several days with Elgin and Rubena Bartel.
A Christmas family gathering was held Dec. 30 at the Parkview Activity Center with Elgin and Rubena Bartel as hosts. Those attending were Rollind and Melissa Bartel; Milford and Janelle Klaassen, Angela and Michael; Justine Klaassen all of Hillsboro; Zack Bartel of Great Bend; Andy Bartel from Derby; Ron and Lorette Patton; Tyler and Diane Ewert, Deidre and Andrea; Tim and Angela Paxton, Derrick and Hunter of Wichita; Kevin, Ryan, Ben, and Bonnie Klaassen of Big Springs, Texas.
The Klaassens and Elgin and Rubena Bartel were supper guests on Friday evening of the Milford Klaassen family.
Georgie Medley and her granddaughter, Aston from Liberty, Mo., were weekend guests of Virgil and Jean Oblander. Additional Christmas dinner guests on Sunday were Ruth Peters of Hillsboro; Clive and Judy Dunn; Rick and Cathy Dunn and Derek, Tesa, and Dallas Dunn all of Salina; Curtis Oblander; Chris Oblander, Dallas and Haley of Newton ,and Jonas Frantz of Tampa.
Brad and Sherri Buller and family hosted a birthday dinner Sunday evening for their father, Dean Ollenburger. Other guests were Edie Ollenburger; Mike and Carolyn Kleiber; Adam Kleiber; Ken and Tammy Ollenburger, Evan and Elliot; Hannah Ollenburger and Merle and Marolyn Ollenburger and Maci, all of Hillsboro.
Mr. and Mrs. Paul Pankratz visited on Wednesday afternoon with Evert and Josie Eshlinger in Canton.
Oliver and Elizabeth Unruh, rural Hillsboro, accompanied by Oliver's brother and wife, Mr. and Mrs. Earl Unruh from Kansas City, returned to Ohio on Monday to attend the funeral services for their brother, Don Unruh. Oliver and Elizabeth had visited Don and his wife shortly before Christmas.
