Ryan Janzen receives Eagle Scout rank
Boy Scout Troop 129, a chartered organization for 61 years and currently chartered to Hillsboro American Legion Post 366, is pleased to announce that Ryan Wayne Janzen has been awarded the Eagle Scout Rank by the Boy Scouts of America.
Ryan is a 2004 graduate of Hillsboro High School. Only about four percent of all Boy Scouts who join a Boy Scout troop earns the Eagle Scout rank.
Ryan's Eagle Scout Project was the construction of a solid oak movable ticket booth for the Hillsboro School District. The project is used during events held in the Robert C. Brown Gymnasium.
Ryan joined Troop 129 in 1997 and has been an active member participating on camping trips and service projects.
Ryan was elected to Scouting's honor society, the Order of the Arrow.
While in high school, Ryan participated all four years in football, wrestling, and track. He was a state qualifier in wrestling two years. He also was a member of TSA and FFA. He is a member of the Hillsboro United Methodist Church.
Ryan will be recognized at an Eagle Court of Honor at 2 p.m. on Sunday at the Hillsboro United Methodist Church. He is the son of Raymond and Anne Janzen of Hillsboro.
