Elsie Gerhlach, Ruth Wenger, Elda Riesen-Stean, Martha Klein and Rosy Ollek enjoyed the senior center's carry-in meal on June 19 at the Hillsboro Community Medical Center Long-term Care Unit.

Morning camp with staff's children was held on June 20 and July 2. Residents and children made a flag with their painted hands, a flag craft, enjoyed boat races and made ship portholes. The residents and children enjoyed changing their white carnation either red or blue with food coloring. Children took their carnations home, and the rest were put on the tables in the residents' dining room for the fourth of July. The final morning camp will be held July 18.

A wedding dress show was held on June 21 in the afternoon. Twelve staff members brought their wedding dresses dating from the 1950's to the present day. Residents enjoyed a slideshow on weddings and the refreshments of wedding cake, nuts and punch.

A special Hawaiian meal was served on June 26. The menu included sweet and sour chicken, mixed vegetables, Hawaiian bread, fresh fruit salad and coconut cake. The afternoon activity involved water games. Residents dressed up in beach clothing to have their pictures taken amongst the ocean waves. Stop by the bulletin board outside the residents' dinning room to see the picture.

Homemade ice cream was served on June 28.
