Salem Nursing Home

We had two birthdays this past week. Bob Bruner celebrated June 24 with root beer floats. Frances Fulk celebrated hers Friday with ice cream sundaes.
We had exercise and singing Monday, Wednesday, and Friday mornings after breakfast. The residents played bingo Monday with Tasha Hollingshead, my activity assistant.
The card players, along with Mike Ryan, CEO, and Ken Johnson, risk management/RT, played pitch Tuesday in the TV area. The Herbel family came to play drums and sing some songs for residents. They also played USA Jingo with them.
We started decorating Wednesday for July. The residents cut out stars and hung up banners. We worked together and everything turned out great. Wendy McCarty had a spelling bee with the residents in the afternoon. We began Thursday with reminiscing and trivia after breakfast. Residents told stories about their lives. This is a good socializing hour for them.
After lunch, residents enjoyed men's bingo club and the women's sewing club.
We had our country store in the activity room Friday after breakfast.
