Schmidts to celebrate 50th anniversary years ago
Dannie and Alice Schmidt of Goessel will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary Sunday with an open house from 2 to 4 p.m. at AGAPE Senior Center, 101 N. Wheat, Goessel.
Alice Ruby Funk and Dannie Schmidt were married May 24, 1957, at Bruderthal Church.
They have lived in the rural Newton and Goessel areas.
Dannie has been employed as a farmer and at Hesston Corporation. Alice worked at Central Kansas Hatchery and Schowalter Villa.
The open house will be hosted by their children, L.H. and Cheryl Brunner of Elbing, Dwayne and Fawn Schmidt of Newtown, Conn., and Richard and Lynette Johnston of rural Newton; and 11 grandchildren.
The couple requests no gifts.
