Schrag presenter at summer conference

Justin Schrag, Goessel agricultural education instructor, attended the Kansas Association of Career and Technical Education summer conference held Aug. 1 through 4 at the Sheraton Hotel in Overland Park.

Schrag represented Goessel and was a presenter to the Kansas Association of Agriculture Educators. Teachers from across Kansas attended various workshops that included topics on integrating academics for "no child left behind career clusters, experience-based learning, leadership in the classroom, trade and industry standards, Perkins reauthorization, and legislation.

Schrag presented the topic, "GPS and GIS technology in the classroom." Schrag also assisted with a workshop where participants used hand-held GPS receivers to conduct a scavenger hunt.

He was elected to serve the 23 schools of the south-central district as vice president for the next two years.
