Senior Soundings

Those with July birthdays were honored at the senior center on Monday. Elfreda Fast, Marie Wiens, Ruth Neufeld, Oliver Unruh, Elsie Groening, Yunietta Taylor, Gladys Jantz, Johnnie Liles, Lucilla Funk, and Connee Willis sat at the birthday table. A video, Kansas in the Mid-20th Century, brought back many memories after lunch.
Games, gab, and goodies filled the afternoon of July 28 at the center.
Mary McFadden will be available at the center for foot care and taking blood pressures on Monday. Her hours are 9 a.m. - 2 p.m. and foot care requires an appointment.
The Marion County Fair begins on Aug. 4. Entries may be made that day beginning at 9 a.m. and ending at noon. Judging will be completed that day. Seniors have a separate exhibit. Bring any handiwork or crafts that have been completed within the last two years.
Those who volunteered their time at the senior center last week were: Kitchen — Gladys Jantz, Nellie Jost, Irma Groening, Darlene Matz, Margaret Funk, Mariann Unruh, and Velda Hiebert. Meal delivery — Lonn Richards, Wilbur Hanneman, and Ray Matz. FISH transportation — Kermit Ratzlaff and Ray Franz.
