Senior Soundings: Commodities available today at senior center

Commodities will be available at the senior center at 10 a.m. on Thursday. Canned chicken, apricots, peaches, rice, pudding, asparagus, orange juice, and walnuts will be distributed under government guidelines for income.

Mary McFadden, RN, will be taking appointments for foot care at the center on Monday. She will also take blood pressures.

A special St. Patrick's Day meal will be served at noon at the center on Tuesday. Come early at 11:30 and enjoy an Irish sing-along with video before lunch.

On Wednesday a covered dish lunch is planned at noon at the center. Dr. Zafar will see hearing patients before the meal and will give a hearing update after lunch, covering many of the latest developments in the field of hearing research.

Volunteers at the senior center the past week were: Kitchen — Kim Friesen, Irma Koop, Irma Groening, Phyllis Neuenschwander, Ethelda Lemon, Carol Unruh, Mariann Unruh, Margaret Funk, Betty Manka, and Frieda Birkle. Meal delivery — John Vogt, Harold Pankratz, Lonn Richards, and Ray Matz. FISH transportation — Ethel Bartel, Gladys Schmidt, and Helen Fadenrecht.
