Sheriff's office: Alternators stolen in Florence

An unknown person entered a barn sometime between July 4 and 5:45 p.m. July 18 at 2224 110th, Florence, and removed a tractor driven alternator (generator) from a trailer, reports Deputy Larry Starkey. The Winpower alternator, belonging to Rex E. Savage, is valued at $1,400.

An unknown person entered a bar sometime between July 4 and 5:45 p.m. July 18 at 2224 110th, Florence, and removed a tractor driven alternator (generator) that was mounted on a two-wheeled trailer, reports Deputy Starkey. The Onan alternator, belonging to Ronald E. Savage of 2207 E. 110, Florence, is valued at $1,400.

An individual used a CO2 BB pistol to shoot pellets into the hoof of a horse sometime between 8 a.m. July 6 and 11 p.m. July 17 at the SE/4 of 15-17-4, Lost Springs. The horse belongs to Joyce E. Rohloff, 217 N. Smith, Lost Springs, reports Deputy Rollin Schmidt.

Individuals used pry tools in an attempt to break locks to open valves on a main anhydrous ammonia tank in an attempt to steal ammonia sometime between 5 p.m. July 17 and 9:30 a.m. July 23. The incident occurred at 525 Santa Fe, Durham, and the tank belongs to Agri Producers of the same address, reports Deputy Schmidt.

A driver was stopped for speeding at 11:22 p.m. July 3 on Indigo Road. The driver's license check showed license to be suspended, reports Deputy Mike Vineski.

An individual kicked in the concession stand door at the Lincolnville ball field sometime between 7 p.m. July 21 and 11:30 a.m. July 24. A microwave oven was removed from the building located at Vista and 7th Streets in Lincolnville. Damaged to property and oven, owned by Lincolnville Wide Awake 4-H, is valued at $110, reports Undersheriff Randal Brazil.

A driver was stopped at 5:01 p.m. July 26 at 190th and Mustang, Hillsboro, by Undersheriff Brazil for speeding. The driver failed field sobriety tests and was arrested for driving under influence.

An individual was arguing with Silke Marie Jahnke of 401 N. B, Ramona between 2:35 and 3:30 a.m. July 18. The individual struck Jahnke in the face numerous times while she was holding her child. The individual went to Herington where an arrest was made by Deputy Starkey.

An individual was seen cooking methamphetamines under a culvert at 8:55 p.m. July 12 on 105 and X-Ranch Road in Marion County. Sergeant Jeff Soyez attempted to make an arrest, but the individual escaped. Marion County and Chase County K-9s tracked for approximately one mile until track was lost. K-9s found a piece of evidence from the individual on the track. A meth lab was found and processed by Marion County sheriff's deputies.

A driver was southbound on K-15 at milepost 140 at 12:44 p.m. July 19, reports Sergeant Soyez. The driver crossed the center line several times and crossed over the fog line. Soyez stopped the driver at 270th and K-15 and noticed the driver had a strong odor of alcohol. Driver failed four field sobriety tests and was arrested for driving while under the influence of alcohol, driving while suspended, and driving left of center.

Marion County sheriff dispatcher received a 911 call and hang-up at 9:03 p.m. July 8 from 1304 Whitetail Road, Florence. Deputy McCarty was dispatched along with James Parmley, Florence Police Department. Individual #1 was found outside sitting on the porch. Individual stated individual #2 had called 911 and had been hitting individual #1. Individual #2 claimed the individual #1 was drunk and had attempted to wake same. Shoving between the two took place and the 911 call was made.
