Amanda J. Roberts of Wichita was operating a jet ski at 6:30 p.m. July 4 at Marion Reservoir, when she fell off the water craft as she was turning, reports Officer Dan Kinning. Roberts was in about three to four feet of water, but reported that she did not hit bottom when she fell. She did, however, hit her head on the water. She was taken by Marion ambulance to St. Luke Hospital, and was then transferred to Wesley Medical Center in Wichita.

A suspect was stopped after running a stop sign at 140th and U.S.-77 at 4:25 p.m. July 12, reports Officer Aaron Waddell. State's computers were unable to give the status of the time of the stop and the suspect was released with a warning. Later it was discovered that the suspect had a suspended driver's license.

A car battery was found discarded in a creek near 170th and Pawnee, reports Officer Lonnie Hiebert. It was dumped there sometime between 7:30 a.m. June 16 and the same time on June 22.

Officer Chad Funk stopped a suspect at 190th and Mustang at 1:40 a.m. July 5, for a headlight being out. A strong odor of alcohol was present, along with bloodshot eyes and slurred speech. After failing field sobriety tests, the suspect was arrested for driving under the influence (DUI) and was taken to the county jail.

Officer Mike Vineski was given a report that a reckless driver in a 1994 red Ford Mustang was eastbound on U.S.-50 from U.S.-135. Contact was made with the suspect on Ninth Street in Peabody and a license check showed license suspended. He was arrested and booked into the county jail.

A juvenile suspect was riding a go cart on a public street, causing rocks to hit a semi, resulting in damage, reports Officer Waddell. Verle D. Zook of Wakefield owns the semi which was damaged on Prospect Road in Lehigh, between 5 and 6 p.m. May 28.

A suspect was stopped for driving left of center and failing to maintain a single lane of traffic on U.S.-56/77 at 12:46 p.m. July 4, reports Undersheriff Randal Brazil. The suspect was given field sobriety tests, which he failed. He was arrested for DUI.
