Star-Journal welcomes Christy Wulf as new reporter

The Hillsboro Star Journal has a new reporter on the beat. Christy Wulf, new resident and Hillsboro Arts & Crafts Fair Director, adds her talents to the Star Journal staff.

"I'm excited to get back to doing what I went to college for, and between the part-time fair director's job and reporting for the Star Journal, I'll be putting my journalism degree to good use," said Wulf.

With a bachelor's of science degree in journalism from The University of Kansas William Allen White School of Journalism and Mass Communications, and experience writing, reporting, and designing, Wulf will be a welcome addition to the Star Journal.

Besides covering the school board and chamber meetings, Wulf will concentrate on local feature articles, take photos and "jump in wherever needed," she said.

"I'm anxious to add my touch to the paper and would love to do some articles about things I'm especially interested in."

Wulf is a self-declared gardening addict.

"I pretty much read everything I can get my hands on about gardening, and for several years I've grown most of my potted plants from seed. Usually I run out of space to grow them indoors before I run out of time or desire."

She also loves interior design, cooking and anything to do with her family.

"I'm generally a very creative person, and from what I've seen of Hillsboro, I'm not alone. I think most of my interests are shared by a lot of the local community, and I hope to have the chance to write about them."
