Stika family has early Valentine's Day celebration

News is still sparse this week. More snow has kept many Tampa people homebound most of the time, but Monday's sunshine brought a lot of thawing.

Frank and Anna Mae Stika's Sunday dinner guests were Tom and Lori Moldenhauer and Ronnie and Lisa Hanschu, James and Anna. They enjoyed a Valentine cake and exchanged gifts in an early celebration of Valentine's Day.

Visitors of Reuben and Lucille Kerbs after church on Sunday were Ashton Kerbs and Jesse Smith of Salina and Russ and Julie Kerbs and Rustyn.

Amanda Kleiber visited Sunday evening with her grandmother, Leona Kleiber.

Valerie Hampton received word Sunday of the death of her father, William Hampton. She went to Rogersville, Mo., for his funeral. Valerie has the sympathy of her friends in this community.

Weekend guests of Jerry and Jeanne Rziha, David and Julie were Wayne and Shannon Rziha and Cecilia Marie of Tulsa, Okla., Janie Rziha and Michael, Christopher, and Joseph Rziha of Atchison, and Diane Herron, Andrew and Peter of Wichita. All helped Jerry celebrate his birthday.

Donald and Carolyn Srajer of Omaha, Neb., spent the weekend here visiting Tillie Hein and Jim and Kris Srajer, Grant and Cole. All had supper at Tillie's Saturday evening and dinner and supper at Jim and Kris' on Sunday. Pamela and Bill Fillmore of Cottonwood Falls were Saturday afternoon visitors.

Funeral services were held Saturday morning for Edna Vajnar at Saint John's Lutheran Church. Edna had spent most of her life in the Tampa area before going to the Hillsboro Community Medical Center's long-term care facility six years ago. The Tampa community mourns with her family.

Frank and Anna Mae Stika, Lori Moldenhauer and Nikki, and Ronnie and Lisa Hanschu, James and Anna were among those attending the junior high basketball tournament Saturday evening at White City. James played and Nikki led cheers. The Stikas and Lori and Nikki went out for pizza after the game.

Ashton Kerbs and Jesse Smith of Salina, Reuben and Lucille Kerbs, and Russ and Julie Kerbs were among those attending the fifth grade basketball tournament Saturday at Marion. Rustyn Kerbs played on the Centre team, which took second.
