Stroke screening available at St. Mark s of Marion
Residents living in and around Marion can be screened to reduce their risk of having a stroke.
Life Line Screening will provide stroke screenings beginning at 10 a.m. July 27 at St. Mark's Activity Center, 415 N. Cedar, Marion.
Screenings are fast, painless, and low cost. They involve use of ultrasound technology, and scan for potential health problems related to blocked arteries which can lead to a stroke, aortic aneurysms which can lead to a ruptured aorta, and hardening of the arteries in the legs, which are a strong predictor of heart disease.
Also offered, for both men and women, will be a bone density screening to assess risk of osteoporosis.
Each screening requires 10 minutes or less to complete. A complete vascular screening package is $109. For a complete vascular and osteoporosis screenings, the cost is $129.
