Summer improvements under at Tabor College

While the students are on summer vacation, Tabor is taking the opportunity to make improvements on campus.
The parking lots near the tennis courts and library are being paved.
"We've had plans to do this for many years," said Kirby Fadenrecht, Tabor College Vice President for Business and Finance, about the surfacing of the parking lots. "The opportunity to refinance existing bond issues at lower interest rates made it possible."
Vogts Construction is doing the paving, and according to Fadenrecht, their offer was reasonable enough that it made using concrete, instead of asphalt, feasible.
The college is paving from the east border of the tennis courts to D Street and the alley to the end of the soccer field. Fadenrecht said the city would be resurfacing the lane to the water tower. The paving by the library also will include the alley between C and D streets.
The parking lot by the tennis courts should be done by next week, according to Fadenrecht, and then work will begin on the library parking lot.
