Sunday service to be held at high school gym
The buildings are gone but the Spirit remains with the congregation of the Hillsboro Mennonite Brethren Church.
Members of the congregation met Tuesday evening in the Tabor College cafeteria to share memories and prayer.
Rod Jost, youth minister, said between 350 to 400 people attended the meeting.
"It was very therapeutic and helpful for the congregation to come together and share their thoughts and grief," said Jost.
The congregation talked about the past, their feelings about the fire, and praised the heroic efforts of the firefighters.
"The main thing is nobody got hurt," said Jost.
Immediate plans were for a prayer meeting Wednesday evening at the Wohlgemuth Music Education Center.
A council meeting will be at 7 p.m. tonight.
Sunday services will be at 10 a.m. in the Hillsboro High School gymnasium. There will not be any Sunday school classes.
