Tabor appoints women's soccer coach
Tabor College appointed B.J. Livingston as the new head coach of the women's soccer team, according to athletic director Don Brubacher.
"B.J. was hired because of his experience in soccer, his interest in coaching on the college level and his ability to recruit for the women's soccer program," Brubacher said.
According to Livingston, he has played soccer since he was four years old. He went on to be a striker in high school and played soccer at Waynesburg College, Pa., an NCAA Division III school.
"I have a passion for the game of soccer and am competitive by nature," said Livingston. "Coaching soccer allows me to continue with a game I love and express my competitive side since my playing days are over. I also enjoy the opportunity to be involved in the lives of college-aged students."
With his love of the game and competitive nature, Livingston has already set goals for the future of the soccer program.
"I would love for the program not to only be competitive within the conference, but in the region, and ultimately the nation," he said. "Bringing in a balanced recruiting class on a consistent basis will significantly help in achieving this goal. I also want the team to succeed academically and reflect Christ in our play and attitude."
Livingston has been employed as an admissions counselor at Tabor since September and also serves as the interim youth pastor at Parkview Mennonite Brethren Church, Hillsboro.
