TABOR COLLEGE: Lady 'Jays tennis team struggles in opening meets

The Tabor women's tennis team started out its season in strong fashion at Southwestern, but its last few meets have found the Lady Bluejays struggling.

Tuesday, Sept. 10, the squad hosted Bethel College at home, but they managed only one win. That was in the No. 3 singles, where Lindsay Miller defeated Tina Troyer in three tries, 4-6, 6-2, 6-2.

No other Lady Bluejay was able to claim a victory during the meet.

Miller again fared well at Sept. 7's meet against Hastings College, which was held on the campus of Fort Hays State University.

Miller defeated Stefanie Strawn in two sets, 6-3, 6-2.

On the same day, five Tabor players were able to pull out victories against Ft. Hays opponents.

In No. 6 doubles, Sara Hogan defeated Missy Eck 6-0, 6-2. The No. 1 doubles team of Katherine Klepper and Nancy Isaac defeated Ft. Hays duo Frank and Klug 8-3.

Finally, the No. 3 doubles team of Hogan and Rachel Weber downed the Cyre-Eck team 8-0.

The Lady Bluejays next face Baker University on Thursday at Baldwin.
