TABOR COLLEGE: Netters upend Ottawa in four
The smooth ride of the second half of the season continued for the Lady Bluejay volleyball team Tuesday night in Hillsboro against the Ottawa Lady Braves.
Tabor won the first two sets 30-19 and 30-20 before stumbling in the third, 30-27.
The Bluejays bounced back to win the match in four with a 30-25 victory.
Tabor was led defensively by a combined 32 kills from the Kroeker sisters, Angela and Shannon, with Angela making 21.
Laura Campbell had seven blocks with Shannon Kroeker and Rachelle Regier knocking down six and four, respectively.
Erin Loewen and Carmen Hein contributed 18 and 15 digs while KCAC Setter of the Week Sara Haggard added 54 assists.
"Our blocking determined the pace and set the tone of the game," Bluejay coach Amy Ratzlaff said. "We didn't pass well and we weren't running our offense in the third game.
"We turned around and played better for the fourth one."
The Bluejays improve to 11-1 in the KCAC and 15-5 overall.
Tabor travels Thursday to Wichita to face the Friends Falcons. Game time begins at 6 p.m.
