Last weekend, Tabor College hosted a leadership symposium with the theme 'Tag
The symposium stressed the ideas of leadership and the need to become a better leader in the community.
Students were separated into ten teams, with about nine students in each. Each team had a Tabor student serve as a facilitator. In these teams, the students had to take on several different problem-solving activities.
The activities involved anything from climbing through a gigantic spider web to rearranging themselves on a small board without falling off.
The activities taught students how to work together as a team. In each activity, the students had to rely on each other and help each person, or the team wouldn't be able to finish the activity.
In addition to the activities, there were several sessions throughout the weekend. The sessions included music from a worship team a motivational speaker.
Wendell Loewen, head of youth ministries at Tabor, was the speaker for the weekend. He discussed styles of leadership, levels of leadership, how to make leadership work, and other important aspects of being a leader.
