Tabor men lose two in California
The Tabor men's basketball team traveled to Fresno, Calif., to play in the Sunbird Holiday Classic Dec. 18 and 19.
In the Tuesday game, the Bluejays lost 68-72 to California Christian in what was considered an upset. Jimmy Janzen led Tabor with 25 points and nine rebounds.
On Wednesday, the Bluejays were defeated 64-56 by the Sunbirds of Fresno Pacific University. Ernest Nortey led Tabor with 12 points and eight rebounds. Nortey scored five consecutive points to draw the Bluejays within one with 11 minutes to play. Tabor got no closer than four the rest of the game.
The Bluejays, who are now 6-7, will resume play Jan. 4 and 5 in the Tabor Classic. They will take on Texas Wesleyan at 8 p.m. Jan. 4 and Langston University at 8 p.m. Jan. 5.
